HAPPY 2008 TO ALL! Today is a new start for u and me. Since it is a new start, I have decided to give my blog a new 'clothes'. =] After today, I will have a busy busy week rushing FYP (due at 14th Jan 08).
I have got all the photos taken during my taiwan trip so I am posting them right now. Since there are so many things to blog on I will blog on my Taiwan trip part 1!
Some pics we took in Changi Airport:
First day:
Reached Taoyuan Airport round 7plus and took a 45 mins transport to our hotel; Royal Castle 成都饭店 in the Ximending district. After we unpack our luggage, we went down to Ximending walk walk. Most of the shops closed le so we just took a stroll and familiarize the area and grabbed some bites of course! =D
Second day:
We woke up at 6am cause we need to get ready for our 1/2 day tour by 8am and our breakfast was served at 7.30 am. We went to several places but I have forgotten most of the names haha. Here are some pictures taken while waiting for our tour bus to arrive.
This school is situated just opp the hotel we staying.1st destination:
I believed that most of u had heard this place frm the news last year. This is the first place we went.
2nd destination: Museum
We were not allow to take any pic so I only have 1 pic on the letter box outside the museum. It has 2 colours so I guess they are for different purpose too.
3rd destination:
This is an interesting place. There are many diff tribes in Taiwan and for some purpose the tribe leaving in this place that we went was one of the minority left. They also sell their 特产 for $ to contribute to the rest of their people. There are 3 princesses; royal princesses and we managed to have a photo with the youngest princess. She is really beautiful and still single haha.
4th destination:
If I did not remember wrongly, this place is like a 祠堂 to 纪念 those people who died from ar like 孙中山. They are sort of soldiers guarding like in Sinagpore there are soldiers standing outside the Istena. But one very different thing between Taiwan and Singapore is; they have to change shift every 1 hour and when changing shift they have to do some sort of performance like marching frm one end to another to change shift and back to the front to change another pair of new soldiers. The journey frm one end to another is very long really very long. Imagine they have to do this every single day and every one hour per day. I see already very tiring can u imagining if u are the one doing it. Furthermore, their NS salary is much lesser than the salary here.
5th destination: Our last place where we get to try out the 凤梨酥， 绿豆酥， 栗子酥 etc. We all place order like siao at least not me la cause I dun eat these stuff only place order for Mei Ker haha.
After the 1/2 day tour, we went back to hotel to place the stuff we bought during the tour. Then went for lunch at Ximending. We had lunch at a shopping mall food junction while my parents and granny went to Mac. They said the Mac there taste nicer than here except there isn't chilli provided haha.
Then we hanged around the arcade for an hour before moving on to 台北101; second tallest building in the world! We took MRT from Ximending station and waited for shuttle bus to bring us there. When the bus came, we were all shocked!
Have u ever seen a bus and driver so cool before?! Wahaha
When we stepped into the bus, there was a pre Christmas atmosphere! =]
Does this looks like our local ‘奇怪海鲜‘? Haha of course it is not. This was taken in the supermarket in 台北101 building.We did not buy things as it is just as similar as our Taka. We just went there for experience keke. After some shopping we found a place to sit down and settle dinner. My mei mei asked me to order a grilled chicken drumstick for her. See the way she eat haha so delicious hor haha. Something special here is that the stall holder gave us plastic gloves so that we will not dirty our hands when using hands to eat the chicken. How thoughtful of them!
See Taipei 101 building looks beautiful from night outside!After our dinner, we walked to Eslite Bookstore. It is a 24 hour bookstore, situated in a shopping mall. The toilet there I will say is the coolest toilet I have ever seen in my life. Haha. When u stepped into a cubical, the toilet bowl cover will auto open up and the toilet seat has been disinfected liao. So clean and high tech hor haha!
Then at 10 plus, we went to 华西街观光夜市 until 11 plus, we took train back to Ximen station and headed back to our hotel for rest!
